Whooping cough cases increase

pen on calendar Please contact the surgery during office hours in person or by telephone, to make an appointment with the Doctor or the Nurse.

If you have an urgent problem, the receptionist will fit you in to see the doctor. You may have to wait as patients with pre-booked appointments are given priority. Please discuss the urgency of the situation with the receptionist (unless it is very confidential), as this will help her fit you in.

Home Visits

doctor's bag If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

Test Results

blood tests If you have had a blood or urine test done, please allow 5 working days before ringing for the results.

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

The best time to speak to the receptionist for a non-urgent matter or a test result is between 12.00 and 3.00pm.
